Robert Thumm’s passion for the family business began over twenty-five years ago. During that time he worked at many famous European wineries and gained his Diploma of Oenology at the internationally acclaimed technical research University of Geisenhelm in Germany. Furthering his skills, he helped develop the world's only commercially operated vacuum distillation process, and holds patents for rapid analysis of alcohol, safe stainless steel storage of perishables and the reduction of evaporation of volatiles such as spirits. Now specialising in producing a 100 percent pure and natural highly nutritional grape super food. There are no preservatives, no cholesterol, no GMS, no fat, no added sugar, no gluten, no artificial colouring or flavouring but it does contain natural powerful antioxidants such as resveratrol. The decision to begin the business was based on the need to expand and even out the highs and lows in the growing cycles of grapes and other fruits and to manage the excess. After some five years and over $2 million in research and development the product, 'DeVine' a world first, was developed. The resulting product which requires five tonnes of grapes to produce one tonne of a rich highly nutritious food and natural sweetener produced from Australian grapes and apples from northern NSW, can be used on breads and cereals, waffles, pancakes, and scones and to sweeten fruit juices. It contains a valuable self-preserving nutrient, giving it a shelf-life of one year, and contains 4 to 5 times more minerals than honey. It is a natural sweetener for coffee and tea, cooking, and confectionery and has high proportions of natural carbohydrate, glucose and fructose, making it a superb instant energy source as well as providing a sustained energy release. Worthy of note is that through production of this product other non-alcohol products can be produced using a form of manufacture that's pollution free another added environmental bonus.
