Bob and Anne Ashbolt planted their first olive trees in 1995 in the hop and poppy growing area of the Derwent Valley. They grow frantoio olives from Tuscany and in 2003 were awarded a silver medal for their green oil in the large producer catagory in Australia. More recently they have planted elderberry trees and are now producing elderberrywine as well as a bubbly and a concentrate. These are made from an ancient recipe and Annie considers it unique outside the UK. Check out the crab apple jelly and quince jam too.
