The Edmonds have about 1600 passionfruit vines, a WA variety Sunshine Special. They produce fresh fruit, passionfruit paste (membrillo), spread, juice, nectar concentrate and pulp. In addition they produce extra virgin olive oil, and have a Pick Your Own olive initiative in harvest season. It all began in 1998 when they were looking for appropriate things to grow in this Mediterranean region north of Perth. The Passionfruit Membrillo (paste), unique to this business is great on a cheeseboard with blue cheese, camembert or brie, in a tartlet with cream or mascarpone, or as a canape with ham or bacon. Passionfruit Spread is a sweeter topping or accompaniment to ice cream or with scones, pancakes, or on toast with slices of banana. Gingin Farm’s Passionfruit Pulp is used by icecreameries and the nectar concentrate is bought by cafes for juices. The olive oil is sold in bulk to local food outlets or as a gift such as chilli olive oil. Gingin Farm also sells WA lake salts flavoured with WA rosemary, chilli and mustard seed. These products are sold locally and nationally under the Gingin Heritage Estate & The Get Stuffed Olive Co. brands. Not open to public. Please phone for an appointment. |
