  • Do you feel you are in touch with what is happening around you in regional food and dining?
  • Are you interested in spreading the word about your region and its food?
  • Would you like to consider becoming a volunteer Australian Regional Food Guide for your region?

The idea is pretty simple: ideally we need people to be our eyes and ears in every region in Australia. We need the Guides to tell us when something opens or another one closes, when events are on and the contact details, what markets are operating that we may not have heard of and anything else that fits the broad  categories of the Australian Regional Food Guide. It may even be that you might be able to suggest to local businesses that they might like to advertise on the site.

All we ask of Guides is that they pass on information that fits the same guidelines we have used for the past decade:

  • To be listed, places must produce or promote the local regional food - and everyone is welcome from a roadside stall to a multi-million dollar operation
  • Businesses which are not members of the local food group or tourism group are still welcome to be listed
  • Wineries can be included as long as they serve or sell regional food (even if it is just a cheese platter or antipasti at the cellar door)
  • Breweries, fruit wineries and distillers are generally welcome as listees

There is no pressure to perform, or spend undue time or effort on this task. Most of your information will come about informally as you live your life or work in your area.

Please check to see if your region has an ARF Guide yet.

As you can see, the ‘guides’ below are all busy people, yet passionate about two things. Their region, and its food. If that describes you, please  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
