Hawkesbury Harvest is a community based organisation, established in March 2000 and committed to improving the economic viability and sustainability of local agriculture. The organisation gives Farmers the Opportunity to sell their produce at other venues besides the central markets.

There are over 100 members, most of whom are on the Hawkesbury Harvest Farm Gate Trail. Currently there are 44 Farms selling produce directly to visitors. Nine of these are Pick Your Own farms growing fruit such as apples, chestnuts, peaches, plums, strawberries, walnuts, mandarins and oranges.

The sixth edition of Hawkesbury Harvest's Farm Gate Trail Map has been released with five regions on this map extending from Brooklyn in the North of Sydney around the outskirts through the Hills, Hawkesbury and Penrith shires and then down to Picton in the Wollondilly Shire. They highly recommend their Wine and Sake Trail.

Products range from food, flora, fauna, fibre and wine.

As well as creating the first Farm Gate Trail Map in NSW (in The Hills, Hawkesbury, Penrith, Wollondilly, South Coast) and they have established 2 Farmers' and Fine Food Markets.
