Mudgee-born Angela Leonard began making jams and preserves in 1986 when she and husband Simon opened one of Mudgee's first bed and breakfasts and a cafe.

Obviously passionate about Mudgee, its produce and those who grow it, her emphasis is on using produce from her own garden, her family's garden, local area gardens and Mudgee produce that she picks herself. This might include a product made from a single source, a favourite fruit tree, the cumquat trees from her garden or from a small grove of quince trees growing along the Cudgegong River.

Although her product is not organically certified, occasionally Angela will source fruit from Certified Organic producers.

Six years ago she created the brand Angelas Edibles, a range of small batch regional and seasonal preserves, with the Onion Jam and Beetroot Relish becoming most popular.

Her aim is to capture the flavours of Mudgee in a jar and her philosophy, she says, is captured in this poem.

"Mudgee in the pot,
I cook and stir a lot.
I put it in a jar for you
So you can have some Mudgee too."
